I made this album a few years ago, in 2008. It became real for the seventieth anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz on January 27th of this year.
I believe it is always necessary to remember and never forget the horrors of the second world war. This war is important for its survivors in order to describe the darkness and the limits of those who were not capable of acceptance.
Today thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes because of their political views or their religion.
Humanity has a very short memory.
It has not learned from its mistakes.

"After 25 years of false democracy, I am the witness of a world haunted by the ghosts of communism here in my Romania: corruption, manipulation of the mind by the media, subculture and illiteracy. Superficiality and ignorance are as present today as the air.
I do photography from instinct. For me, it is a must do, a way I can express myself. I don’t want to tell the viewer what to see or feel while looking at my photographs. The point is to feel something in his or her own way, between one's own limits. If only one of my images remains imprinted on a retina, then it is worth it.
There are many photographs burnt into my soul, ones that will never assume a shape. These are the very dark ones, which come along with me everywhere I go. But I’m able to see beauty in a smile, a gesture, in the wind blowing, in the snow, in a sound, and, of course, in the light.
I want to believe I have not lost my enthusiasm and I just hope I will not lose my inspiration."
